I am a passionate, dedicated History educator with more than 38 years of experience in ex-Model C and independent schools. I have taught the CAPS History syllabus since its inception in 2014. In addition, I have been a provincial marker and senior marker on both History Paper 1 and Paper 2 committees, and so am well-versed regarding the expectations of the matric examiners at national level.

Before I retired, I taught History at Durban Girls High School for five years. This institution has achieved a consecutive 100% pass rate for the past 31 years and, in recent years, the average for our matrics has consistently been within the 78 - 82% range. Naturally, I  have acquired invaluable professional exposure during this time.

I am a patient, empathetic and relatable tutor with a great sense of humour. Moreover, as a Netflix, Youtube and Spotify subscriber, I have watched a variety of excellent historical documentaries and have listened to a range of informative podcasts to deepen my subject knowledge. Moreover, I am aware that the historical narrative is constantly changing as new evidence or declassified documents come to light. This is what makes the subject so exciting, in my view!
